...if things continue the way they’re going, we’re going to find ourselves talking about how to mitigate the damage somewhere down the line.
Redstate is coming to the slow realization of what Rush looks like to the non-wingnut average American voter, and Emanuel's genius in tying him to the GOP. Their solution? For him to make rounds on TV talk shows and to debate dems! This article is filled with gems!
Let’s be clear here; Emanuel and Co. are not afraid or particularly concerned about Rush’s 22 million listeners. They’ve written them off as unwinnable and have factored that into their calculations. Which leads us to real targets of the anti-Rush campaign; the mushy middle - election deciders
Are redstate readers seriously just figuring this out today? Did this guy just woke up from sleep this morning and have a major epiphany? Congrats Sherlock!
Independents - the unfortunately abysmally ignorant who unfortunately decide elections
In case you didn't realize it already, this is how wingnuts see Americans.
And here is the fabulous advice.....
Wait for it....
OK Here:
on your show over the next few days call up the producers of the various Sunday Morning Talk Shows on the Big Three, CNN, CNBC and MSNBC, live on air, and offer to come unto their shows to debate anyone they want, or whoever the White House sends up. Right now, you’re the big story - they’re talking about you all the time. So they can’t legitimately say you’re not a prime time “get.”
The White House? Please, Obama does not have time for his inane drivel. Sure bring Rush on. Let him try to sell tax cuts to Rachel Maddow and explain how that is any different from TARP.
Dubya allowed himself to be destroyed by his refusal to engage his opponents and use his bully pulpit to set the record straight. And through sheer relentless unchallenged repetition in the Press, the Democrats and their 4th Estate allies were able to sell “Bush Lied” and other damaging stories to the American people. Now they’re trying to do the same thing to Rush Limbaugh.
I am not sure which of the lies they are referring to, but regardless, Bush could not set the record straight because he actually did lie you imbecile. Either he knowingly did, or he exhibited extremely poor judgement. And how is he going to fix that with his "bully pulpit"? Lie some more?
Rush's ideas are stale and can be knocked over with a feather. If he wants to debate, bring him on.
Ahh, redstate... sometimes better than the Onion.
