Today is a glorious day ...

Sunrises and sunsets are the ultimate spiritual (not religious) sacraments. I like to appreciate the sunrise and the sunset every single day. Most often, I watch the sunrise and sunset as caught by the pine trees outside my window. Occasionally I travel down to the water to catch the sun in the act of rising or setting.
This is one privilege of living on the most beautiful planet in the Universe, the only living planet in the Universe, and (temporarily) the only planet in the Universe to host a technological civilization. Of these three, only the first two are necessary to enjoying the sunrise. The Native Americans, undoubtedly, enjoyed the sunrise and the sunset every single day, and their night skies were unpolluted so the stars always shined bright.
When I woke up this morning, Scorpio was caught in the pine trees, the same pine trees that catch the sunrise and the sunset. When I got to the shore, I found Jupiter shining bright near the horizon. We really do live in an extremely large Universe, much too large for humankind to either comprehend or appreciate.
The Universe is safe from humankind. Humans aren't ever going to escape from the Earth. The Earth has suffered much from humankind's abuse, but Nature will take care of this problem in her own time, in her own way. Nature's justice is harsh and she doesn't respond to prayers for mercy. Much better to fall into the hands of God than into the hands of Nature. God forgives, Nature does not.
Spend some time with Nature today. The more time you spend away from this poisonous civilization the better you will feel.
