Nothing wrong seeing you doing an interview with Wal-Mart’s new CEO Mike Duke at a Philadelphia store this morning on Today, however I was in several Wal-Marts in Mexico last year, far away from the tourists, and there’s a heck of a more interesting story down there where the lines, depending on the Wal-Mart, are 10-15 deep and 20 across...
...I have pictures. What I saw happening in these small towns as it related to say, the Wal-Mart stock price per share (it came in above expectations), or mega giants effect on the local economy, was what I thought would be the hook to get the media interested in talking to me after I came home. So very simple I thought. I ‘d contact the elite media and we could discuss the other aspects of our troubled relationship with Mexico as well, i.e., illegal immigration to the U.S., corruption all over Mexico at every conceivable level and the impossibility of the average Mexican to make a decent living as a result ( and the reason they run here .....and the reason we must finish the fence.)
It wasn’t meant to be. One and a half years (and 4 trips to Mexico) later, 100’s of e-mails to people in position of power and influence later, one run for US Congress later, I’m e-mailing you for the first time. I’m gathering 800 signatures to get myself on the ballot to run as an unheralded 3rd party candidate for governor of New Jersey. Other kooks might be gathering signatures to run as an independent as well. Assuming there’s that one in a thousand chance and I do make a slight ripple on the radar, now is the time to contact me about my obsession, not later. I will not come on your show later in the unlikely event I do make some waves and media people come knocking, talk to me now. There are still a few media types I haven’t e-mailed. By reason of past exclusion I consider them my future friends.
Someone from the Today show in the next 2 weeks could still go down to Mexico with me and interview a Mexican citizen who was here for 5 years illegally and later went home. In 2 weeks he’s flying to Canada where I will meet him and hopefully help him find a job. He has a one week opportunity to look for work before he has to fly back. If he is successful he can then become a dual Canadian-Mexican citizen and visit his family, and visit us legally- and return at his pleasure to what everyone hope’s will be his permanent home in Canada.
What’s "Giv’m Hell Gary’s" positions as a candidate for Governor on the issue of driver’s licenses and insurance for undocumented’s and more importantly the state’s financial balance sheet? Mr. Lauer, call me (yeah sure) if your interested because I’m posting this letter to you on the Democratic blog called The Daily Kos. I don’t have many natural allies here so I’ll save myself the aggravation and stay mum on that aspect for now.
