It was a snowing this afternoon but I still wanted to witness the testicle spectacle of Utahans speaking out cutting taxes for 95% of us! I had never been to a conservative protest rally in Utah and didn't know what to expect. They didn't fail to deliver...actually they did, it was an epic fail.
I am estimating(with my untrained eye) there were 100-150 Teabaggers at the most. There is no way there was over 200 Teabaggers...considering this is Salt Lake City, Utah(2nd reddest state to Oklahoma) this is really an epic fail.
Now, to be fair, there are two protests scheduled:
- In the middle of downtown and during the lunch hour. 150 people show up = fail.
- From 5-7pm on the edge of the city, in an industrial area, in front of a post office = fail.
After I got the area and parked my Prius, I'm such a liberal/pinko/commie, I started walking towards the actual protest. What was the first thing I saw?
Nothing says anti-taxes more than waiving a "Don't Tread On Me" flag from a $40K+ Porsche! Thank GOD everyone was protesting to make certain the owner could afford the next years model!
Like with many other Teabagger parties this one truly did not like Aliens
I feel like I'm "Turnin" all right. LOL...my god they can't spell or are inept at making protest signs.
This guy was scary. He really seems to be calling for the death of Liberal Republicans but masking it in canonization. Am I wrong?
I really felt like telling the blonde on the left she needed a second bag...I didn't offer to give her another one. I didn't want to get creamed.
I guess the signs weren't really that important. Throwing down the tea bags and yelling FREEDOM is important!
Nice....That is all I can say about this one...just nice guy.
No, I haven't teabagged anyone recently. Will you please show me how it is done. Damn, I have to go bleach my brain now.
I knew I was supposed to fear Obama but I'm glad he told me I am supposed to fear God as well! Damn I'm glad I went to learn that!
What would Jefferson do?
OHHHHH, he would be an environmentalist and wouldn't have allowed GW Bush to spend us so deeply into debt. Gotcha!
That was my little jaunt into the world of Teabaggers...I went home and had coffee.
Update: linkto the Salt Lake Tribune lying about there being 2,000 people there. H/T to jlms qkw
I just spoke to the reporter and he is standing by 2,000 people for the story. But he did say a few times it might be more like 500-800(which it wasn't), classic report fail.
