This post also could have been entitled "Common Sense" but another fellow used that a few hundred years ago. However, the principle remains much the same. That is, point out mistakes, then propose solutions that even the least of us could understand. That's why cars became popular so quickly. Anyone could drive one.
And as I was driving down I-20 the other day, I watched the endless parade of military equipment on flatbeds heading east for Charleston and ultimately to Iraq and Afghanistan. There's nothing like an Abrams main battle tank to ruin a village's day. Or more pilotless drones to put an early end to the wedding festivities.
War is big business. It's our biggest export.
I know the MSM wants us to stay focused on the battle for healthcare reform. By and large, the MSM is forbidden to discuss single payer. By and large, our elected officials seek an uniquely "American" approach to appease the insurance lobby, while finding a large enough bone to throw to the rabid masses.
What a great time to re-air "Sicko" with limited commercial interruption.
The 'pugs and more traitorous dems cite Canada for being against single payer. No one points out the French system, like Mike Moore did. Simple, easy to use doctor recommended French medical health system.
Fox news, ( required watching in every public lobby in Georgia) speaks of the tremendous costs associated with a gov't plan. They're right. That's undeniable. Either way, it's costly. You pays now or you pays later.
But let me tie in the intro. Instead of exporting death, we can quit being the world cop. That's not isolationism. It's common sense. Folks, it's time to take leave of the corporate sponsored wars. We don't need bases all over the world and navies on the seven seas. I'll cheerfully pay taxes for mothballs and to provide for the "common defense". That is, coastal defense of our nation.
Like most other countries do. Like most countries that ironically seem to have a national health insurance plan and don't have a problem paying for it.
