If you were in Denver for the 2008 Convention, you may remember a short, powerful speech about leadership; from the first woman to reach the rank of Lieutenant General in the U.S. Army. Her name is Claudia Kennedy, and she made a call for new leadership this morning in South Carolina's Second Congressional District:
South Carolina needs new leadership in Washington. We need Rob Miller in Congress. There are only 14 hours remaining to make his first fundraising quarter successful--please contribute today! We can do a lot as private citizens, but without tough and smart leadership in Congress, we miss a lot of opportunities to make our community and our state better. We need a leader like Rob Miller in Congress.
I was honored and humbled to become the first woman Lieutenant General in the U.S. Army. Service to my country was and continues to be my driving mission. In 2006, I was proud to help Patrick Murphy and Eric Massa join the ranks of veterans in the House of Representatives, and I fought to send President Obama to the White House. This year, I'm proud to be fighting for Rob Miller to join their ranks.
We're only 14 hours away from Rob's first quarterly filing deadline for the 2010 cycle--contribute today to bring new leadership to South Carolina!
As an enlisted Marine and Marine Officer, he understands the importance of service. Rob left the Marine Corps in 2008 to serve his country in a new capacity--as our next Congressman.
Rob has what it takes to win in 2010. He got over 46% of the vote in 2008, doing better than President Obama did in the district. He will win this race with the help of each and every one of us. Joe Wilson's neglect of South Carolina's families and our nation's veterans will end in 2010.
Help me send Rob Miller to Congress by contributing before midnight tonight.
Sincerely,
Claudia J. Kennedy
Lieutenant General, US Army, retired
Treasurer, Rob Miller for Congress
Claudia, and our Campaign Manager, Lindsay, will be taking some of your questions in the comments.
