There's a lot to be said about spending time devoted to delightful and beautiful and harmless and innocent things such as birds, especially baby birds, and the black skimmers performed their flight show above the beach making the day spectacular.
During the cloudy & rainy portion of the day, I spent some time eating cheesecake and drinking coffee while reading what was a most entertaining and unintentionally funny column in the Weekly Standard :

I know, I know, I said a long time ago that it was time to cut the line and let that woman go into the obscurity where she belongs, but the conservative was so very over the top with his glowing glorification of Sarah Palin.
Reading the article really improved my mood. Then I looked outside the window and it was time to devote my attention to more important things such as the glorious weather and the infinitely beautiful Universe.
Nature is the most important and valuable resource that the Earth possesses. Stop worrying about money. Stop working. Let the global economy die (since its death is already inevitable). Learn to live differently. Make substantial sacrifices to save the planet from humankind's nasty self-destructive habits.
Humankind needs an entirely new set of priorities and motivations. Unfortunately a human cannot help but behave like a human ...
