I realize that this is not big news, but it sure shows the fragility of thew GOPosaur "conservatives."
Foom AP:
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham says he'll vote for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, breaking with his party's conservative leaders.
Well I don't know if Lindsay read Markos' piece on The Hill, but it would lead me to believe that perhaps Lindsay - I ain't coming out of the closet - Graham has future aspirations.
But he sure seems to be setting up a fight with the supposed conservatives in the GOPosaur Party. From the AP article:
Graham is generally conservative but has been known to flash a maverick streak similar to his mentor, Sen. John McCain of Arizona. The other Republicans who've said they'll vote for Sotomayor, who would be the first Hispanic justice, are all moderates.
I think at least this displays a chink in the GOPosaur armor. Perhaps another rift between so called Southern conservatives? How much fragmentation can the regional GOPosaur Party take?
Update: 18 seconds after I published this (very brief) diary, eyesonobama published a diary pondering by how much Sotomayor would be confirmed. Please recommend eyesonobama's diary.
