A daily blog in defense of liberalism and the President.
I would swear the nation had an election last November, but by the way the right is acting you’d think the election was coming up in a few months. Last night on Anderson Cooper, who by the way has sold his soul completely, was chatting with Mark Williams the organizer for the Tea Party Express, which is some kind of reactionary group that is pissed they lost the elections last year. That is all this teabagging and crazy town hall rioting is all about, pure and simple they lost the election and they are mad as hell and are not going to shut up, I would say until the next election cycle, but I fear they are just never going to shut up period, or at least until Republicans retake the government. So really all this fake outrage boils down to the fact that they are sore losers who cannot accept they are now the minority. John Dean last night had a great name for these people he called them Authoritarian Conservatives and that is exactly what they are. Sadly all we can do is try and point out their lies and hate and make damn sure they stay right where they are now and this is in the minority and not ever again in power.
Now I’d like to give a brief shout out to Keith Olbermann for calling Limbaugh a coward last night. I have certainly tooted Olbermann’s horn before, but I think the man does a great job and I enjoy his program a great deal, not to mention I just can not stand Rush. How that blowhard evil drug addict never went to jail is beyond me. It does say a lot about how fucked up our legal system is because if Rush had been a nobody black man we all know he’d be doing time right now instead of insighting people to hate and violence, but never let the hypocrisy of America go unnoticed. I could go on and on about how unjust our legal system is, but unfortunately nobody in power on either side seems to care.
Now to the Philosopher of the Week, Jesus Christ, and since I was just talking about America’s lack of justice we will do some quotes on forgiveness, Jesus is said to have stated, But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:44-45. Jesus speaking of mercy and forgiveness said, But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." ... How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. Luke 6:35-38;42. I truly wish I saw some of this from the Christian Right, but I don’t, I see hate, I see anger, and I see rage, but I never see forgiveness or a spirit of giving. Well this concludes my week of Jesus, I hope I pointed out that I don’t see much Jesus acting from those who claim to love and follow him, but with all hypocrites what can you expect the right is a do as I say not as I do bunch, and nothing will ever change that, but until Monday brothers and sisters goodbye....
