What if they held an anti-healthcare reform protest and no one showed up? It happened in Nashville yesterday when Tom Kovach was the lone protestor at West End Middle School--perhaps because the town hall meeting with Rep. Jim Cooper he was supposedly protesting was completely fabricated.
The only folks who look stupider in this whole affair than Kovach is our local media, who of course showed up to cover the non-protest. The right wing rules their world, after all. There is something about a bunch of shouters and screamers gathered by a Republican astroturf firm that brings out the news cameras; I can't tell you how many anti-Bush and anti-war protests I attended that drew from dozens to hundreds of people and no cameras were there to record the event.
Kovach is a wacko who was fired from his job in the public schools for allegedly abusing a student. He also ran against Cooper in the 2006 election and got his ass kicked. When he was told that Cooper was not hosting a town hall meeting at West End Middle School, Kovach said he didn't care, he was going to protest anyway.
Kind of makes you wonder what, exactly, he was protesting to begin with.
