HCR legislation is still in development with much to be done to
consolidate the bills in each chamber and then merge the two. At that point HCR will be at the mercy of the House, Senate, and President Obama any one of which has the power to kill the bill. Only agreement of all three will make it law, basic School House Rock stuff. The question becomes who should use that power and under what conditions?
While I am still optimistic that a bill with a public option will pass and become law I am not felling that I am in the majority here. The entire political media complex has been hit by a blame-storm. Assigning responsibility and credit for things that haven’t even happened yet, ITS OBAMAS FAULT HE IS CAVING, ITS THOSE BLUE DOGS, THE HELTH INDUSTRY IS WINNNING, THE TEA PARTYERS ARE WORKING, GRASSLEY!, BAUCUS!, POLOSI, OMG SARAH PALIN IS TWEETING.
I am no shaman and cannot see the future as well as all the pundits can. So I will turn to the most scientific and therefore best crystal ball around Nate Silver
He predicts that the Senate will block the public option.
Assume this is the case, the Senate bill looks like the Baucus bill. The Senate cannot be moved. Consider this question.
