I was thinking we need a plan B. If this thing goes down as Mr Waldman suggested is a possibility, we need recourse. So, I call on you for creative ideas that will take the money out of the Big Insurance Hands and into more capable, trustworthy and less greedy hands.
I will start
My idea focuses around the Unions of America. All of them. We are a large number together. All Union Members pull their money from the big companies and form a (for lack of a better term) Co-op of sorts. We seek out best practices from non-profit and smaller operation Insurance Companies and model after them.
Once the program is up and running and proven, we invite the general public to buy in.
This accomplishes two things. The first, much needed competition. Even more competition once it is proven and the public is invited. It, in a sense becomes the public option. The second it puts the Unions back in their rightful, powerful position as advocate for the working American.
I am well aware there would be a lot of details to work out. I am aware that my idea may be very flawed. But, a Brainstorm is for building on ideas.
Criticizing and pooping all over ideas defeats the creativity of a Brainstorm. So, please resist. But, please join in with your ideas.
