We all wish to lead a healthy lifestyle, and we all know how. Many of us, in fact, are experts on the subject. We’ve tried, and succeeded, over and over. Statistics show few who successfully lose weight maintain that loss, and yet, there are people who break their bad habits and maintain their new healthy lifestyle. Join us after the jump as we (hopefully) learn how they do it.
After losing a significant amount of weight several years ago, the hard work began. Maintenance. I tried, but without a complete program to strictly follow, little by little I fell back into my old, bad eating habits. Those little plates of diet meals worked great on my body, but they did nothing for my mind. Somehow I needed to convince myself I liked vegetables, craved exercise, and thought chocolate tasted like dog crap. One night it hit me - a hypnotist! I needed somebody who would wave a watch in front of me and BINGO! No more chocolate. Unfortunately, hypnotism doesn’t quite work that way, and I didn’t stick with it very long. I also don’t think I’m hypnotizable, no matter how hard I try (I must be as hard headed as some say).
I had a diary about my efforts to maintain my weight loss (hypnotism, seminars, books, tapes; oy, you name it) typed and ready to publish. But, it would be much better to read about successes rather than failures. Many of you have written about your maintenance achievements, be it weight loss, a fitness regime, or a healthier lifestyle. How did/do you do it? What does it take? Has your healthier lifestyle become habit, or is it something you will always need to work at? What have you learned (what have we all learned from our efforts?)? We are all different and we all need to find what works for us; however, I would find it uplifting to read. So, come on. Fill us in
