The WH has recently released a video of Michelle Obama and Sam Kass about the WH Garden, the inspiration behind it, the history of it, and the results so far, it's a really cool video check it out:
For anyone who doesn't know about the garden, here's a bit of a diary I posted about it when they were planting it:
Our lovely First Lady, Michelle was working hard in the new WH Garden:
Mrs Obama was joined by a group of 25 children who tend to a similar garden at their school for the inaugural plantings.
Among the crops brought into the 1,100-square-foot L-shaped plot on the South Lawn was spinach, assorted types of lettuce, herbs - including dill, oregano and rosemary - onions, shallots, cucumbers, peppers and peas.
Tomato vines will added to the vegetable patch in about three weeks.
here are some pics:

Here's some video from when they first planted:
If you watch the video above the fold, you can see the progression of the garden from month to month, it's pretty cool.
Here's a funny story: My mom has taken to growing a couple of things in her backyard I think she has cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers. Apparently there's a rabbit or something who's been waiting until the tomatoes turn red and then eating them (according to her whatever it is only eats the food when it's ripe ~lol~). Well, my Grandma told her to fill the tomato that was on the ground partially eaten with hot sauce. She did, and apparently the rabbit (or whatever it is) loved it because it came back every day to nibble on it until it was gone. LOL. So now she waits until the tomatoes are almost about to turn red, then she takes them off of the vine and puts them up in the kitchen window to ripen.
