The past two election cycles Democrat Linda Stender was unable to unseat our GOP rep. Last time out Leonard Lance upended Stender, even when NJ as a whole went very blue for Obama.
We're going to have a tough time with this seat again, as the NJ Gubernatorial race is up in 2010, and Corzine faces a strong fight.
I just got an e-mail from Lance's office about a telephone town hall he is conducting Monday night. That's right - a telephone town hall. God forbid he face his constituents face-to-face in a district where he knows the GOP is preferred, but not a lock.
How about we hijack a town hall?
Please consider signing up for my upcoming Sept. 14 telephone town hall meeting. The town hall meeting will be from 5:20 pm to 6:20 pm on Monday, Sept. 14.
I regularly hold town hall meetings over the telephone with Seventh District residents in an effort to update constituents on issues pending before the Congress. I choose to hold meetings over the telephone because I certainly recognize that you and your neighbors have busy schedules.
During the call, I answer questions and listen to the concerns of Seventh District residents. To date we have had more than 50,000 constituents participate on my telephone town hall events.
Just visit lance.house.gov/teletownhall and fill out the telephone town hall sign-up form. Then we will call you on Monday, Sept. 14 at 5:20 pm.
I look forward to speaking with you during my Sept. 14 telephone town hall.
NJ-7 residents - give me a hand! Let's force Lance into a corner and get him to think about the consequences of voting the party line.
