Motivated by buhdydharma's diary, I called Sen. Feinstein.
This will be a short, but I'm encouraging other Californians to call also. I asked if Senator Feinstein is in favor of the "Public Option" or the "Corporate Option". The response was along the lines of "the Senator favors public insurance exchanges and bringing costs down...". I firmly stated that response is not adequate. Does she support a public option or not?
I got more of the same, "Sen. Feinstein wants to see reform happen..."
I told the staff person that bipartisanship does not matter, the Baucus plan is a joke (fining people $3800 for not buying a corporation's product!)?. All that matters is getting a government-run competitor to the insurance industry.
