I was curious to see what kind of sponsors were willing to get their brand next to Glenn Beck, so I went to his website and hit refresh on the home page a few times. The results are curious.
Goldline is clearly a big sponsor, as is Carbonite, a company offering online back-up for important data. Other advertisers included a seed company who's offer was "New Survival Seed Bank Lets You Plant Full Acre Crisis Garden," a save the world spy thriller book "The Midnight House," and a home solar generator product touting "back-up power when you need it most." Oh, and an online florist.
Detect a theme here? The storm is coming! Get your money in gold, back up your data, grow your own food, generate your own power! Oh, and send the wife some flowers so she doesn't think you're a total nutcase for spending the kids milk money on a new underground bomb shelter.
One thing about today's world is that it is much easier for the crazy people to find each other and recursively stoke each other's lunacy. It does not bode well for the health of the nation if there is a significant, organized, population of people who think that the Apocalypse is coming. When you believe you have nothing left to lose, then restraint is clearly pointless.
