I just watched Chris Matthews little infomercial on the Tea Party Movement mostly because it was on and I already had the channel turned to MSNBC as I was watching Ed Schultz. He's the only person left on MSNBC that I can handle listening too. I'm sorry, but I just don't think everything is funny and a joke and I think I'm smart enough that I don't need someone to explain something for a half an hour when her point could have just as easily been made in one sentence. Okay.... sorry. I'm upset. That was harsh. But, I just can't take those two right now. I have no patience and these are serious times. I'm sick of the jokes and the funny talking and the half hour lead up only to make a simple comment. I can't deal. Anyway, back to this infomercial on the Rise of the New Right.
Chris Matthews was promoting this thing all day and had the nerve to say, "It will scare and frighten the Left". Alex Jones all but nailed himself to a cross screaming about how this documentary was a direct dis-info assault on his fatness. So, I didn't think going into this, that I would be wasting my time. Well, that was an hour I will never get back. This infomercial on the Tea Party was nothing more than that. Chris Matthews might have hoped he was scaring the Left, but it was a joke.
It was basically his version of a special comment. It was his "Let Me finish" only it lasted for an hour. He showed footage that all of us have already seen. Anyone who's monitored extremists saw nothing new at all. And any real Progressive who sees this documentary, will not come away "scared" but rather, angry that the real problem with these freaks was not addressed or taken seriously in this documentary.
All he did was introduce and praise the success of certain Tea bagger candidates to get elected and he threw a few Blacks in there to make it look as though it's not a majority Angry White People movement. He even highlighted a woman from Brazil who compared Obama to a dictator because of his conversation with Joe the Plumber when he talked about spreading the wealth around. Huh ? And of course, he had to find a way to praise Sarah Palin as their leader.
All in all, I should have known better than to waste my time. He basically said "Watch out Here they come" when he should have sent the message "This is what they are. Stop them". I may have even wasted more time writing about it come to think of it. Oh well. I got it out of my system. If this diary sucks I suppose I can do what seems to be the norm these days and blame Barack Obama or Rahm Emanuel.
