The Fairbanks Newsminer reports that Joe Miller was in a 3 car accident yesterday in Fairbanks. An Alaska State Troopers spokesperson changed the story about the accident:
“It was three cars,” Peters said. “Two of them, they just weren’t paying attention and rear-ended each other.”
Peters later retracted that statement, which she said was based on incorrect information from a dispatcher. She said no driver was cited and no one was clearly at fault.
I have no other elaboration. In almost every news photo Miller has appeared with his phone so it seems quite possible he was using his phone at the time of the accident and if so he should have been cited.
A Miller campaign spokesman says it wasn't Miller's fault.
“We spoke about it briefly,” Miller spokesman Randy DeSoto said. “He said that he did some damage to his truck. I think he’s a little sore. We didn’t get a chance to talk about it a lot. From what Joe told me, it wasn’t his fault.”
Just a small blip in the life of the tea party's newest favorite Alaskan.
