Many of you know that I spent the last 10 years of my life in PA. Not long before I moved away I had the pleasure of meeting Orange to Blue candidate Manan Trivedi who is running for Congress in PA-06 against Jim Gerlach. In his campaign Manan has been traveling from one end of Berks county to the other end of Chester county and all points in between talking about how to build a sustainable economy with his plan based on renewable energy, creating new jobs and protecting the ones we already have. Jim Gerlach? Not so much.
Thursday Jim Gerlach had this tweet to share with the world:
Looks great right? After all, Manan has been talking about the creation of jobs a lot too.
Now go to that link- here let me help you... bit.ly/a7TlXJ
That’s right. Gerlach’s plan for job growth? Saving his own!
Now I’ve never held most Republicans in very high regard but really?
Now let’s contrast that with Manan’s plan, in his own words in this just released ad:
Over the course of his campaign to represent PA-06 Manan has been working hard to outline his vision for an American economy that will work for EVERYONE, not just the rich and the special interests. Many of you know that this summer his wife gave birth to their first daughter, he wants our economy to be strong for her so that when’s ready to go to work she can work at a job that she not only loves, but that pays enough to support her and her family.
Having served in the armed forces Manan knows what it means to serve. He knows what it means to help others out, to be innovative in a time of need, and to sacrifice something in order to build for the greater good. What has Jim Gerlach sacrificed? Our jobs. Jim Gerlach isn't interested in working hard to create jobs. The only American job Jim Gerlach is watching out for is his own.
We here at the Great Orange Satan have a chance to make a real difference in this race. In recent years Democratic candidates have come close to beating Gerlach...imho Manan can be the one to actually win, but we have to help him. Please, if you have can spare a few dollars, consider contributing to Manan’s campaign. And if you can’t spare the money, at the very least go follow him on Twitter and "like" him on Facebook.
Disclosure: During the PA primary, Manan was a client of my company’s after I went chasing his campaign and we worked with his campaign on some Twitter stuff, but he is not currently a client...he’s simply a candidate I really believe in and want to see win.
