Just one year after Barack Obama's inauguration and a high approval rating, why are the Democrats losing so badly? How on earth is an election to replace Ted Kennedy be even close let a lone falling to the Republicans?
The President and his Chief of Staff are to blame. You can spin a ll you want, blame an anemic campaign by Martha Coakley, the truth is that you have two incompetent hands at the White House.
Three reasons account for an abysmal turn of events.
1.Obama as the lead character in the game of politics is starkly a novice in dealing with the GOP. To pretend that you are cool in the face of repeated attacks is not the demeanor you need to show your followers. They'll assume that you are weak.
Obama has never shown serious outrage that AIG who took the nations economy to the dump and is still rewarded with millions of dollars in bogus payouts, is fundamentally wrong. There is something wrong that a robber who steals from the bank is being retained and paid handsomely to safeguard the loot. Paying AIG millions to stick around and put back the toothpaste in
the tube is not only wrong but crazy.
- Emanuel, the Chief of Staff has shown a propensity to go after the progressives than the Republicans who have sworn to tear Obama apart.
Case in point, his feud with Dr Dean, past DNC chair is one that foretells doom for Democrats. He creates divisions and always look for cheap and easy short cuts to victory. He is not suited to be the President's lead adviser.
- Axelrod and company instead of embracing the netroots and progressives have somehow kept them at bay and often treats bloggers as pests. Very poor way to engage people who worked seriously to effect change that Obama campaigned on.
Finally you don't allow endless amendments from the GOP on the Bailouts Bills and get no single GOP vote, then you turn around and do the same thing in the Health Care Bill. To allow the GOP to stall the bill through the summer with single vote fro the GOP shows a deep flaw in the way you govern. In all it shows a serious weakness that people perceive as inept.
Obama and Rahm should look in the mirror to see what they have been doing to the Dems.
Fire Rahm and bring in Dr Dean a man with executive experience.
