Just when you thought HCR couldn't be watered down anymore, here comes the H2O in waves. President Obama, according to the New York Times, has signaled that he may set aside his goal of near universal health care in favor of a stripped down version with bipartisan support. http://www.nytimes.com/...
So this is what a year of struggle has gotten us: No single payer. No public option. no near universal coverage, no medicare for 55 and up. No real anything. However we do get the republican version of what health care should look like. I can't wait to see that.
It looks like the president and his advisers didn't get the message many hoped they would get from the MA election, but instead it seems the only thing that they have lesarned is that it's time quit.
I have suppported the president every step of the way here, and I hope I can continue to support him, but this is truly an embarrassing setback if it all happens the way it is now being signaled. We need to step up and fight back with all we have now, because the opposite appears to be total capitulation to the GOP/Teabag minority.
