This is short and sweet. My students think Halloween should be like Thanksgiving, a moving holiday. Join me on the flip for more.
It started with my students complaining that Halloween was going to be less fun this year because it was on a Sunday.
"That is absolutely the worst day of the week for Halloween. I mean, you have to go to church before you can even think about your costume!"
That was one of my 5th graders' quotes. Anyway, after having a discussion, they thought it would be great if Halloween was like Thanksgiving, always on the same day of the week. I had to agree. As a elementary teacher, I hate it when Halloween falls on a weekday or a Sunday. The kids come in the next day exhausted and suffering from a serious candy hangover. It's even worse if it's on a weekday because you can hardly get them to focus on anything but the "coming event." They decided Saturday was the best day because there is nothing distracting you from enjoying the whole day.
So, they want to write a bill and submit it to congress. Anybody got a clue on how the hell to do that? I guess I can use the Google. Now, on to the poll.
