They won this round... so fucking what?
This does not change one damn thing as far as I can see the fight is still the same as it always was:
1] Equality for the LGBT community
After being told to be patient, now is not the time for that one as I expect the republicans to ramp up the rhetoric against us, and the Dem's are going to run in the opposite direction in the lame duck session if we let them on DADT.
2] Women's rights.
The battle to get us barefoot and pregnant and back in the kitchen will get going once again watch for health care to be the first battle ground. The anti-feminist 'feminist grizzly moms' will be found to be electronically controlled or just plain brain dead.
3] The Bush Tax robbery.
The Dems must not be allowed to wriggle out of this as now the meme du jour that they should be extended in their entirety. They are the greatest robbery perpetuated since the founding of the republic and against all the principles upheld within the 'Great Society' of President Lyndon B. Johnson.
4] The fight against the corporate takeover goes on.
The citizens united decision has robbed us of fair elections and must be fought against at every turn. The tea party is a fraud and those who believed it was anything else but a corporate invention will now have to face the truth that you have been had. The only ones who should be celebrating today should be those in the board rooms of our corporations.
5] The wars and extension to the 'war on terror'.
The fight against this crass stupidity goes on, we must be vigilant of our own rights and those in the rest of the world. Our 'inalienable right' to bomb who we like must be opposed.
6] The fight for all our future goes on
Climate change legislation may be dead in the water for now, but we have no choice but to keep on fighting against the rights blindingly stupid denial of the science. We cannot afford to lose here.
7] The fight for the spherical earth theory goes on.
The war on science if you prefer goes on, denial on the grounds that you don't like the data must be resisted at every turn.
8] Campaign finance reform.
We desperately need it as has been shown for so long now, every time it is put off the harder it will be to stop our democracy being sold to the highest bidder. The MSM will be no help here.
9] Social security.
Any thoughts of privatizing our national wealth must be resisted at every turn, you want the financial sector to get their hands on that type of wealth?
10] The fight for 2012 starts here.
Can we allow another night like tonight occur? Really? That is just totally unacceptable.
Down?
Me?
Not a chance. I'm still standing.
