One thing I have noticed about the Internet is how easy it is to allow your true nature to come through at the click of a mouse button. People have lost jobs, gone to jail and even ruined their political careers over this. In the case of Sarah Palin, there was already more than a little evidence that she was xenophobic bordering on racist. At minimum, she certainly wanted to push these buttons at speeches and over the 'net. However, there may be one click that she may live to regret when she apparently endorsed a tweet containing a picture of a sign calling President Obama a "Taliban Muslim Illegally Elected President".
Sarah Palin recently "favorited" an Ann Coulter tweet that linked to a picture of a sign about "The blood of Jesus against Obama," our "Taliban Muslim illegally elected President USA: Hussein." This might be awkward if she runs for president!
For those unfamiliar with Twitter (do you exist?), to "favorite" a tweet is to hover your mouse over said tweet, then click a little star that says "favorite" next to it. That is what @SarahPalinUSA did to the below tweet from @AnnCoulter.
The link goes to this Twitter user's picture of a sign outside the church of Pastor James David Manning, who once called Barack Obama a "pimp" and "long-legged mack daddy" in a sermon. <@SarahPalin via Palingates>
It will be interesting to see what she has to say about it. She already got away with endorsing books written by Nazi-sympathizing authors. She will probably say that she does not believe what the sign said. But already know that the finger can move faster than the speed of thought, at least conscious thought.
