Isn't it funny that Politico seems to drop everything on Keith Olbermann story with MSNBC ? Remember that it was a young reporter at Politico who got the "Scoop" about Keith Olbermann giving money to 3 democrats. And also, don't forget that Joe Scarborough is a political contributor for Politico and early the week he wrote an article about political donations. Coincidence ?
Back on the topic, According to Politico's Mike Allen, Keith Olbermann wasn't suspended for his donations to demacrots but for refusing to apology on camera.
On his playsbook, Allen reported that "unnamed sources" (can we call them Joe Scarborough ?) tell him that Phil Griffin had no choice but to suspend Keith Olbermann after he refused to apologize for making donations to 3 demacrats on camera.
Mike Allen wrote :
Network sources tell Playbook that Keith Olbermann was suspended because he refused to deliver an on-camera mea culpa, which would have allowed him to continue anchoring "Countdown." Olbermann told his bosses he didn't know he was barred from making campaign contributions, although he is resisting saying that publicly. Olbermann may not hold as many cards as he thinks. He makes $7 million a year and MSNBC's prime time is not as dependent on him as it was before the addition of Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell, who make considerably less.
Isn't it interesting that the only source talking to Politico seems to hold a negative view of Keith Olbermann.
I don't know why but that source sounds like a Scarborough and smells like a Scarborough, so It must be a Scarborough. Maybe I'm wrong.
