We begin with this:
A widely distributed e-mail written by Delgaudio for the Public Advocate about TSA, claims the pat downs are part of a "Homosexual Agenda." And he criticizes TSA's non-discrimination hiring policy.
<Jon Stewart>Go on...</Jon Stewart>
"It's the federal employee's version of the Gay Bill of Special Rights... That means the next TSA official that gives you an 'enhanced pat down' could be a practicing homosexual secretly getting pleasure from your submission," Delgaudio wrote.
Dude? You're seriously overthinking this.
Anyway...
I want to be clear about this: I do not believe that all homophobes are closet cases. Many are just hateful, spiteful people. Some are just xenophobic in general. Others mask their homophobia as concern and patronizing psychobabble.
Others still couldn't give a damn about homosexuality but will attack it when it suits their political purposes to do so.
But sometimes, there's just the completely over the top, insane, wtf homophobia:
"Shouldn’t the overwhelmingly straight warriors who answer their county’s call be spared the indignity of showering with other men who achieve lascivious enjoyment from the sight of those lithe naked bodies, and who may be tempted to seek more than the view?"
Dude. Seriously? I don't know about you, but it seems to me that any man who uses the phrases "showering with other men" and "lascivious enjoyment from the sight of those lithe naked bodies" in the same sentence might want to seriously rethink his homophobia.
The guy (a part time magistrate), by the way, did get fired. Just not for that.
