With the historic passage of the repeal of DADT, we have yet another example of the conservative
movement and its perfect record of opposing civil rights and standing in the way of progress.
The Conservative Movement in the United States in an alliance between big money and big religion.
This movement which is more interested in perpetuating itself than in the best interests of the people of the United States has had a long unbroken record of opposing any extension of freedom to any minority.
The panic has already set in on the freeper site. Some are calling for a Pinochet-type coup:
I wonder if America needs a Pinochet to straighten things out?
The world's greatest intellectual, Thomas Sowell, Ph.d, warned that there may come a day when the American military just won't take it anymore.

Conservatism can always be counted on to be wrong. Wrong on slavery, wrong on segregation, wrong on
the Civil Rights movement, wrong on feminism and the ERA, wrong on gay rights, gay marriage, etc.
Sure, there's always a stray wingnut who comes to their senses and does what's right (Ted Olsen). But as a movement it is a despicable collection of haters and troglodytes. All their modern day heroes always opposed civil rights--from Goldwater to Reagan to Gingrich and now Palin. A few moderate republicans who stuck their necks out made a political calculation today--we shall see what happens in their party's primaries.
In the meantime, shame on Conservatives and their movement of greed, hate, and war.
