I just don't understand posts like this.
We are not responding here to a single issue or a single retreat. We are responding to a pattern of retreats that will not change. Not with this democratic party.
Your President - the one you canvassed for, supported, defended and made excuses for - threw you under the bus yesterday, as he has at EVERY MOMENT during what will be a short Presidency.
He even had the temerity to scold us - and brand us as a group that want to play "politics" with those in the most need. Well, in case it's not clear, we are not the one's playing politics. The republicans hold the trophy for that. And they are loathe to surrender it.
But who does he defend? Them. Who does he enable? Them. Barack Obama, in my opinion, no longer deserves to be referred to by the title "Mr. President" because the holder of that title has obligations to be a man. And to do the right thing. This man has acted like a scared child. Pathetic.
There has been a sea change on this website and with this progressive group of democrats - and it's not because we're spoiled little children who didn't get our way. Unlike you, enablers, we understand that standing up to a bully is the ONLY WAY to gain respect and to get what you want. Cowering leads to more cowering.
Our President and party has let us down. They will not change. We can either spend our energy propping up someone who will really stand for us, like an Alan Grayson-type, or go home and complain to the wall.
There is no changing Barack Obama. He will not suddenly become a good President. Get used to it.

UPDATE: Quick question to those who have decided to HR me: What exactly are you HR'ing? My disrespect for a President who has shown a level of disrespect for us - his supporters - that is so profound it's nearly inconceivable? My anger at a man who I defended and supported far two years, far more than he ever defended or supported me or people like me?
Here's the thing - this country cannot afford a weak President. We cannot afford it against a crippling, evil opposing party who wants nothing more than to fleece us all and run to Bermuda. We cannot afford to look weak to the rest of the world, who might want to test us as a result. We cannot afford to look weak to the financial community of the world, who expects us to try to do the responsible thing.
A weak President is a danger to all of us, and a President who chooses to be weak does not deserve our respect. He is not our defender. He is not our leader. He is not the person we elected even in our worst case scenario.
Stop trying to reprimand a very palatable, real and justified anger from me and others. Try living in the real world, where actions have consequences and weak leaders help no one.
