This just hit me. Let the Bush tax cuts all expire - all of them. But, before the current session goes out, use reconciliation to introduce a spending bill to offer the unemployment benefits extension and other credits/rebates for the middle class to compensate for the increase in taxes.
Oh, the Republican's can't use their BS "not paid for" argument, since letting taxes go up will create the revenue to pay for this bill.
