Tom Tancredo recently told the Tea Partiers at their convention that certain people of color ought to be given a civics test before they can given the right to vote. Despite this being a direct violation of the 15th amendment that bars governments from prohibiting American citizens the right to vote based on race, Tancredo thinks this is a necessary step toward edifying the electorate (and it's strictly a coincidence that such targeted people just happen to vote Democratic).
Eli at FDL (http://firedoglake.com/2010/02/05/be-careful-what-you-wish-for-mr-tancredo/) thinks it would be a corker of an idea to impose such a litmus test on conservative voters and I'll second the motion and raise the ante to include our own elected officials.
This past year saw the lunatic fringe come out in all its full-throated glory and openly embraced by factually-challenged Republicans who deny evolution, global warming, the president's citizenship status and other facts you would think a three year-old would know.
So take the poll and decide for yourselves which of the following questions ought to be put on a petition and asked of our more conservative members of Congress.
