Thanks to the NYTimes' Frank Rich today, we now know why Liz Cheney and her foundation get so much air time on network and cable TV.
The old adage, "it's not what you know, but who you know," certainly applies here.
The full story is here, if you got a strong enough stomach.
Liberal critics have been outraged that the TV networks give the Cheneys so much on-air real estate for their crusade. Fox is a regular pulpit, of course, but Liz is also all over NBC, where she happens to be social friends with Meet the Press host David Gregory (whose wife worked with Liz ’s husband at the law firm Latham & Watkins), family friends with Justice Department reporter Pete Williams (Dick Cheney’s press aide when he was secretary of Defense), and neighborhood friends with Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski, daughter of Carter-administration national-security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski. When Mika criticized Dick Cheney on her show last year, the former vice-president sent her a box of chocolate cupcakes.
I guess chocolate cupcakes are all it takes to make these so-called "journalists" kneel in supplication to the Cheneys' wishes. Wonder how many boxes of cupcakes David Gregory got during 43's time in office...
The article adds that Liz plans to run for congress in either Wyoming or Virginia.
And we thought Michell Bachman was bad... We have been warned.
We Kossacks need to keep a close watch on where this bird of prey decides to run, so that ActBlue can run a strong campaign against this cancer.
I would also propose that we somehow organize a video counterpoint against these cable propaganda shows. An expanded KosTV?
