Earlier today Kos had two stories up about Blanch Lincoln lies. In one, user jsamuel commented on this story from the Blue Arkansas blog.
At first it looked like Halter had started down the low road:
Halter camp hacks, redirects site MSNBC
— Domenico Montanaro A group called Arkansans for Common Sense -- aligned with Rep. Marion Berry's son -- is running ads against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter (D), charging that he is a threat to Social Security. Berry, a Democrat who represents Arkansas' first congressional district and is not running for reelection, came out in support of incumbent Blanche Lincoln (D). But the Halter campaign has hacked the group's Web site and re-routed it to a "fact check" of the ad on Halter's Web site, according to a Halter source.
But it turns out, Team Blanche is just as incompetent as she is dishonest.
This is embarrassing, the story now reads:
Halter camp redirects site
....
But the Halter campaign bought the group's domain name and re-routed readers to a "fact check" of the ad on Halter's Web site, according to a Halter source.
"'Arkansans for Common Sense' didn't have the common sense to buy their own domain, so we did," the source said.
"The implication that Bill Halter is a threat to Social Security is outrageous," Carol Butler, Halter’s campaign manager, said in a statement. "Bill Halter has a long and well-documented record as a leader for Social Security who opposed privatization."
....
[EDITOR'S NOTE: An earlier version of this post incorrectly noted that the Halter campaign "hacked" the site. They did not; they purchased the domain name.]
Well, it would be embarrassing if they could feel shame.
