OK, this is a rant, but it is rant about BP oil company.
I had to leave early this morning to take my daughter and brand new grandson to the doctor. I was running late and it was raining hard in early rush-hour traffic. I was down to fumes in my tank, and needed gas fast. I pulled into the first station I could find, but with the rain and traffic I did not realize it was a BP gas station.
While pumping the gas into my tank and staring at their BP logo created with pretty colors to mimic the sun & nature, I got furious at them for every ounce of oil they have drilled and spilled....and every fish, bird and sea turtle they have poisoned. And, even though they make billions every quarter, I doubted they would ever spend the money necessary to clean up their rotten stinky mess.
Yet, there I was... donating even more money to their greedy coffers.
I suddenly stopped pumping at two gallons, vowing to NEVER buy gas from them again.
Today, I vow to try to limit my gas consumption.
Today, I start boycotting BP.
Perhaps others will too.
Who knows if a boycott would have any impact upon their bottom line? I don't. But, I believe the collective force is a powerful vehicle for change, and when we are united we can do amazing things.
Our water and shorelines are irreplaceable, and the money-grubbing oil villain's have destroyed the Gulf of Mexico for many years to come. They should be punished for their sins against Mother Earth.
IMHO, "Boycott BP" should become our National Mantra.
