As reported at Huffington Post and through Media Matters, 'Uncle Pat' reflects on Kagan's nomination:
Indeed, of the last seven justices nominated by Democrats JFK, LBJ, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, one was black, Marshall; one was Puerto Rican, Sonia Sotomayor. The other five were Jews: Arthur Goldberg, Abe Fortas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan.
If Kagan is confirmed, Jews, who represent less than 2 percent of the U.S. population, will have 33 percent of the Supreme Court seats.
Is this the Democrats' idea of diversity?
But while leaders in the black community may be upset, the folks who look more like the real targets of liberal bias are white Protestants and Catholics, who still constitute well over half of the U.S. population.
I use to be upset with myself for being shocked at Pat Buchanan's last 'worst person in the world' statements. Then I realized that I should take it as a badge of honor. What sane being could anticipate such ugliness? You know something is coming, you just never know how bad it will be. We (African-Americans) left the republican party LONG ago, with no regrets - small (nay, pup) tent republicans are determined to shove every other group out of the way and make that party even smaller. No one plays identity politics like republicans.
What makes his statements bigoted? (Believe it or not, that was a question posted by a reader following the Huffpo article. I use to think cons were faking it, but they really don't get it. They don't get what's wrong with this behavior.) How about the part where he says there are 'too many'!?!?!? What qualifies Buchanan to say that there are 'too many' of any 'type' of being on the Supreme court? Does he have some evidence of bias? I thought cons liked the idea the of not playing identity politics? Race, gender, religion.. they don't matter? Remember? This shows what hypocrisy there is in the con party -those things count when cons want to use them as weapons against groups.
PRESIDENT Obama is a 'magical negro'.
There are too many Jews on the Supreme court.
Latino immigrants who are undocumented are identifiable by their looks, and their shoes. (And you can go HERE to try your hand at figuring out which shoes are immigrant shoes - love it)
cons are full of hateful stereotyping.
Ethnic studies are bad, folks. Playing off racist stereotypes is merely 'astute observation' in the con party.
The pup tent party will continue to implode and good riddance.
One question... WHEN will MSNBC FINALLY decide that enough is enough!?!??!
By the way, Media Matters, as quoted via HuffPo, took the article from Buchanan's column. If you want to read the original, you can by clicking the MM link above. I refuse to directly link to his site.
