Inspired by the voters of Pennsylvania, I urge the good voters of Ohio of all parties, especially the so-called tea-partiers and good progressives, to join forces to prove the authors of "narrative politics" wrong again. Quoting David Frum of all people (a first for me):
"The Republican theory of the 2010 election has been that the party does not need a positive agenda of its own. In this non-presidential election, Republicans need only be the party of "hell no," incessantly attacking the Obama record. That theory may yet prove correct in November. But it took a nasty knock Tuesday night."
The Ohio electorate can send the politics of "HELL NO" into oblivion this fall by defeating the "HELL NO" poster boy, Minority Leader John Boehner. That would be good for the whole country. Let's work to elect Justin Coussoule to represent Ohio's 8th District.
Let's review the epic failure in leadership represented by John Boehner; epic failure to lead the Republican Party, epic failure to lead the US House of Representatives, and, most important, epic failure as a leader of the country. Here is his "HELL NO" floor speech at the end the healthcare debate:
This isn't leadership. This is the opposite of leadership. This is simply screaming Republican talking points as loudly as possible in an act of political desperation and self-preservation. There is no debate here. It is simply a harangue. It is an embarrassment. It is childish and churlish. How can the people of Ohio recognize this kind of behavior as representing their interests in any way whatsoever? How is the workin' guy or workin' gal helped by this sort of outburst? How does this provide high quality, affordable healthcare to the people of Ohio? How does it provide relief to the business owner struggling to provide healthcare to his/her employees? It doesn't. "Leader" Boehner is no leader at all. He is nothing more than a political hack and that is all he has ever been in his overlong stay in the House.
Now let's look at the alternative being offered to the people of Ohio's 8th District. Compare this West Point graduate and verteran to the political hack he opposes.
The choice could not be more stark. Justin Coussoule has lived a life of service to this country. Do the people of the 8th District of Ohio want representation or misrepresentation? Google "Boehner golf spending" and see what comes up. It is time for Mr. Boehner to be free to pursue his true love on the golf course and leave running the country to a true patriot. Go to Justin Coussoule's webste at http://www.coussouleforcongress.com/ and learn more on how to help send a message to Washington that the game is over. It is time for young, authentic leadership and honest representation for Ohio.
