While I usually giggle at Dimestore BarrelHair, but this time Rick Perry has gone just to far. Just to damn far for even a redneck in Gun Barrel City to accept, and that's saying something.
I just knew Perry would be trotted out to carry oil-soaked water for BP, but I had no idea the Rickster would turn his back on the religious folks and Texas just to score some points for his Big Business paymasters.
Even for Texas, this is sad sack parade:
Perry defends BP, alludes to 'act of God' as possible cause of oil spill
Dave Michaels, Dallas Morning News, May 03, 2010

At an appearance in Washington Monday, Gov. Rick Perry alluded to an "act of God" as he addressed a question about the Obama administration's response to the April 20 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
"From time to time, there are going to be things that occur that are acts of God that cannot be prevented," Perry said. "So until we know that, to make a judgment on this administration or any further activity may be a bit premature."
The governor's staff says Perry was not insisting that an "act of God" caused the spill. (He later said that he suspects a "mechanical failure" is the cause.) Perry aides say that he was simply making the point that it is too early to blame BP PLC, which leased the rig that was drilling the well.
----
"I don't think that a big wave came along at a very inopportune time and caused ... but I don't know that," he said.
Perry said BP has "historically had a very good safety record from my perspective."
Glad to see the people who have to wipe Perry's butt for a living got out there quick and tried to walk this back, but what is the Governor of Texas doing floating a legal defense balloons for BP?
Sure, Act of God would relieve BP of civil and criminal liability, not to mention Halliburton and Cameron International, but isn't the governor suppose to represent the state and the people of Texas?
And not be the corporate mouthpiece of Big Oil?
And historically speaking BP has a good track record?
Jesus, Perry, which state you say you are from again?
Remember this shit? Do yo? Do you, you fakeass dimestore cowboy?

TEXAS CITY, Texas -- A massive explosion and fire erupted at a Texas City refinery Wednesday afternoon, resulting in at least 14 deaths and more than 100 injuries. It also destroyed buildings and vehicles, and sent a plume of thick, black smoke hundreds of feet into the air.
The blast happened at 1:20 p.m. at the BP Amoco petrochemical plant, located at 2401 5th Street. It occurred in a gasoline refinery area of the plant, officials told Local 2.
In TEXAS City, TEXAS, you know Rickster? Texas? As in the state you supposedly care about and governor? This happened when you WERE governor no less.
You are such a Big Oil apologist you make Dick Cheney look like the President of the Sierra Club.
Yeah, I said it, Cheney runs the damn Sierra Club compared to you.
How dare you spit on the grave of chemical plant workers so you can pansy boy out a corporate talking point for your Big Business paymasters.
And then to envoke God? Like God decided, hey, let me fubar one of my greatest natural wonders just to make BP look bad.
Are you serious?
Rick Perry, do you believe Jesus is a stockholder in BP? And this is just a test of our faith in holy Big Oil?
One thing is certain about Dimestore Rickster, he thanks 25 dead Texans is safe money, as long as it doesn't effect BP's bottom line.
He should pray on that instead of preying on our intelligence.
