What a sad little man Mr. Cantor is, with this all time tone-deaf and pathetic new line of political attack vs. the Obama Administration, on today of all days.
The lawmaker also assailed Obama's handling of terrorism, citing growing complacency amid "warning signs" in the failed attacks against a US-bound airliner on Christmas Day and in Times Square over the weekend.
Cantor complained that the public "goes on heightened alert" after such incidents for "hours and days rather than permanently" and that Obama aides "tend to give these warnings due attention only in limited spurts."
What! The! Fuck!
We had a Bomber, in New York, who was arrested meer hours after the attack. The arrest of the suspect today, after such quick action, through the night, is the Change I can believe in.
Yet, Eric Cantor goes further, warning that Obama is leading us down a road towards another 9/11
"As a result, America is at risk of slipping into the type of false sense of security which prevailed before that September morning," he said, referring to the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Fuck! You! Little! Eric! Cantor!
Terrorists have the luxury of only needing to get 1 out of 100 attacks right to scare the shit out of the American people. Only Eric Cantor brain dead GOP Politicians can hold the recent successes of the Obama administration in prosecuting and stopping terrorist plots against this administration. Eric Cantor is now with the Terrorists, ignoring all the successes and pinning his political success on these same long odds.
I, for one, am glad that we are now a modern enough and mature enough nation, that we can stomach the threats of these random terrorists, without tossing aside our way of life out of fear, without compromising the Constitution, and without invading other nations at will.
Eric Cantor clearly has his own ideas of the world. What a set of balls this little man has, to call out Obama, on Terrorism, on a day where the system so clearly worked, as society and government came together to stop an attack and apprehend the suspect in such quick time. This is such a defeat for the Cheney worldview of Terrorism as WAR, it leaves Black-hearted fools like Cantor no where to go but into the dark shadows of pure fear and deception, for political gain.
Worst of all, Eric Cantor discounts the failed terror attempts; while I view them as a victory. The average Terrorist is no longer as well trained, easily transported, or clearly motivated in the Obama world. They're bumbling their attempts, without even the conviction to kill themselves effectively. These are wimpy terrorists... but for Eric Cantor, giving respect to the Muslim world through outreach is a sign of weakness.
Cantor, who said a similar approach with Syria had also failed, attacked Obama's June 2009 speech in Cairo to reset Washington's relationship with the Muslim world, saying: "What does America have to be sorry for?"
In my opinion, only now, with these actual situations, are we finally starting to see a victory in the war for the hearts and minds of the Muslim street. We are not 100% safe yet, but I do believe we are on the right path. There is now a light in the tunnel, and these pathetic terrorists should teach the American people that we can win, if they can't recruit.
Today is one of those rare days where we can be proud of our government for such swift action to bring justice to those who would harm us. It's nearly impossible to prevent such stealth attackers, however the fact that they're so ill-prepared and incompetent tells me that we're finally winning this war on Terror. Bravo NYPD, people of NY & Obama Administration!
Eric Cantor can go fuck himself.
UPDATE: Hoyer makes bold new claims regarding Democratic successes. Maybe it's not quite time for a victory lap and inviting disaster later, but I think the Majority Leader is onto something, a new election year Meme if we're able to avoid future calamity.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) on Tuesday said the Obama administration has been more successful in combating terrorism than its predecessor.
“We're tough on terrorists. That’s our policy. That’s our performance. And, in fact, we've been more successful,” Hoyer said at his weekly press availability.
“We've been more successful in Pakistan,” Hoyer said. "We're focused on where terrorism began — not began but was launched against us — in Afghanistan, which the Bush administration essentially ignored and, as a result, after seven years had a festering, worsening situation inherited by this administration.”
There is a reason why this bumblinb hack couldn't detonate the bomb... he didn't have adequate support, materials or conviction. This time, we won
Go Hoyer!
Update II: Hello the Long Arm of the Law
Pakistani authorities have detained several people in connection with the bombing attempt in New York's Times Square, intelligence officials said Tuesday.
One of the men, identified as Tauseef, was a friend of Faisal Shahzad, the American citizen of Pakistani origin who is in custody in the United States over the failed attack, one official said. He was arrested in the southern city of Karachi, said the official, who like all Pakistani spies refused to be named in the media.
Another official said several people had been taken into custody in Karachi since the failed attack Saturday. Some media reports described them as relatives of Shahzad.
This has got to be sending chills up the spines of Terrorists everywhere. While their "recruit" couldn't even light a gas can on fire, Obama's FBI & CIA have Pakistan taking action, just 12 hours after we've arrested the suspect.
It seems to me like we finally have Allies acting like it, and we have the A Team in control. 'Bout damn time if you'd ask me!
Update III CNN is now reporting that the suspect was apprehended before boarding the plane last night, so the security net was tigher than we'd been led to believe.
Additionally, it looks like he's singing and may have some targets soon in sight
Unlike the Army Major Massacre & Underwear bomber, this "terrorist" may actually give us someleads to act upon. Release the drones!
One official said Tuesday that Shahzad told the FBI about his training. Attorney General Eric Holder said Shahzad was providing valuable information about the nearly catastrophic attack, but Holder would not elaborate.
A second official said the camp was in the lawless tribal region of Waziristan, where the Pakistani Taliban operates with near impunity.
