America's self-proclaimed 'hockey mom' has now entered the public debate over marijuana prohibition.
An absurd headline, I know. That's how things are these days.
The Linkness
So many people on board now, you can't really call it a bandwagon. More like a flotilla. Although there are greater risks to some of us than others (like getting killed by armed 'security' soldiers)
(flip)
Not much length to the article, and I don't watch Faux (which is the network that aired the interview), so only a bit to throw in here:
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says law enforcement should not focus its energy on the "minimal problem" of marijuana. Politico.com says Palin made the comment during an appearance on the Fox Business Network with Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tx.)
I hate to be repetitive, but it's a damn shame to give any ground on this issue away to the crazies. Ron Paul has already gotten a lot of hype for his stance on the drug war, but now Palin? Shit. No effin way we let the wingnuts outpoint us on this issue.
We should already expect Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman to be largely silent on this issue. Per the White House: calling off most of the dogs in medical marijuana raids was a nice political maneuver, but then again, a political maneuver by DA Cooley in Los Angeles in his bid to be state AG has resulted in the shuttering of hundreds of dispensaries in LA. That's fewer jobs and tax receipts for the city, and doesn't solve any long-term problems.
