Attention from talking heads has been focused on the embarrassment caused to the Obama administration by a cowboy general. I think they're missing the greater point. Hawk or dove, our military's presence in a foreign land signifies OUR presence ... all of America is judged by their actions.
What view of America does this man represent? What attitude has he displayed to Karzai, who is so attached to him, even while considering turning to the Taliban. Is this man living in a tea pot? Who the hell does he think he is?
Indignation rages through me ... I do not want this a*hole representing me in any country. How dare he display disdain at his task of meeting the ambassador of one of our allies? How can he be effective? Since his introduction into AfPak, our allies, which the President so effectively brought back on board, are leaving. More soldiers and more innocent Afghanis have died, and our position is weaker!
I am concerned about Afghanistan, it is a convenient training ground for organized terrorism, the lives of women are a nightmare, many of their livelihoods are dependent upon an extremely distructive drug, the Taliban is the reincarnation of the Spanish Inquisitors. I do believe that it presents a threat to not just the U.S., but the entire world. The situation must be addressed.
I don't want this jerk-off cowboy representing me and my country on a world stage. He's inept and through his statements, appears to be a pompous narcissis, it's that simple.
Update:
MSNBC is saying that McChrystal has been relieved of duties. Thank you President Obama for standing up for America ... an America based on civilian rule.
