Forgive me if this part of Sarah Palin's weekend speech has already been diaried, but I felt I had to comment on it:
Near the beginning of Palin's address at Cal State Stanislaus (approximately 10:16 in this clip) Palin describes California as "Reagan country" to enthusiastic cheers from the audience. She then says:
"Perhaps it was destiny that the man who went to California's Eureka College would become so woven within and interlaced to the Golden State."
From Wikipedia:
Eureka College is a liberal arts college in Eureka, Illinois related by covenant to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and founded in 1855.
And it wasn't destiny that brought Reagan to California for him to weave and interlace himself with the people. It was covering spring training as a Chicago Cubs broadcaster in 1937 and the prospect of a Warner Brothers screen test.
