Today, millions of Americans that did not have benefits to help find jobs were given another chance. 2.5 MILLION PEOPLE.
By the Democratic Party. And the Democratic Congress. And soon the Democratic President.
Economic analysts, some of whom generally side with the Republican Party, say this might help avoid a "Double Dip Recession".
Soon, this will be passed by the Democratic House of Representatives and signed into law by the Democratic President.
If Democrats wants to avoid the major catastrophe in November predicted by so many, including on our side, this needs to be our issue. It is simplistic, hard to argue against in light of what Republicans did from 2000-2008 (especially 2000-2006); and winnable.
Democrats helped working Americans. Republicans did whatever they could to block it. Vote for a Republican Congress, and millions of Americans will be out of work, out of benefits, and in an economy like this, eventually. probably out of food. It's really that simple. It's that sad. And it's that imperative why Democrats need to be elected.
The following Republicans (and Democrat) voted against working Americans and against the poor and struggling today. Note every single one that was in office at the time voted for tax cuts for the rich, things that costed far more than these jobless benefits for the poor and unemployed.
Put Republicans on the defensive for voting against the poor.
Roll call of the Senators that vote for the poor but not for average working Americans:
.
When push comes to shove, Americans are not that stupid. We can make doomsday predictions all we want, but if this election is framed right-- as the average person against the elitist rich-- Democrats will win.
Republicans gave us so much ammunition today, we just need to shoot it.
