"Was it all a Dream?" of course is the opening line of Michael Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 911. I love that quote because it reminds me to put things in perspective.
Putting things in perspective as Election Day 2010 approaches is a good thing (lol).
Organizing For America is inviting us to revisit and reignite the temper of the times of Election Day 2008.
North Carolina was and is "in play" as a Red State that turned Blue in 2008.
And we have not forgotten and we are not going back.
The vote builder database we utilized with Obama For America is now the vote builder database for Organizing For America. Unlike some states (think Massachusetts), we made copious use of vote builder in NC in 2008 to enlist, enroll, and follow up with voters to register and to vote in the election. Our database is among the most accurate and up to date of any database in the country.
First time voters and infrequent voters in North Carolina - we know who you are and we are coming for you. In addition to asking you to vote, we are asking for your help. Go to Organizing For America and enter your zip code to find out how, when, and where to get involved.
Here in the Triangle of North Carolina, we are celebrating Barack Obama's Birthday
on August 4th at the Carolina Ale House in Durham. Stop by if you are in the area.
We all remember turning North Carolina Blue in 2008 and we all remember the afterglow common goal of retiring our Republican Senator, Richard Burr, in 2010. Well, that time has come. We have a great (and progressive) Senate candidate in Elaine Marshall and a great need to keep our NC Legislature in Democratic hands.
Folks that turn on the television think the world is going to hell in a handbasket and that there is going to be a Republican landslide in November.
I don't think so.
What is needed is to show up and get involved.
And the first, next step is to click here.
Happy Birthday, Barack!
And just for fun, here is a reminder of Inauguration Day, 2008.

Was it all a dream? No, it just seems like one.
Now is the time to make this dream (Election 2010) come true.
