I may just be banned for this, and if so...so be it. But Kos' last diary really pissed me off.
Here we are, just a year and a half into the Obama administration and we're all pointing fingers at one another. Giving the Republican idiots exactly what they want. They would love the 2010 and 2012 election cycles to be about us infighting with one another..."The Progressive Base is Falling Apart!!" What a great headline for Faux News, CNN, and anyone else who wants ratings.
The more we turn our attention to ourselves, the more the election becomes a referendum on us. And even though we all know the Obama Administration has done at least some fantastic things (like give a shit about ordinary Americans), the media just ain't playing it that way. So a referendum on us will mean a loss for us.
In other words, the less we draw attention to ourselves...the more we make this about the Republican idiots like Palin and Bachmann and Boehner, the better chances we have in keeping a flicker of our agenda alive beyond 2010.
Just think about it. Are we really on the same team? Of course we are!
(At least most of us)
Imagine if we hadn't all pulled together to make Pelosi the Speaker of the House in 2006 and Obama President in 2008. What would our country be like today?
Well, a couple of my friends would be getting ready to serve their 3rd tour in Iraq. Meanwhile Afghanistan would still be raging on...except it would be Blackwater Mercenaries fighting the war instead of our bravest servicemen.
We'd be plunging further into the depths of the 2nd Great Depression. That 9.5% unemployment the Republicans and now Kos are complaining about would be 19.5%. People would literally be starving because they would be out of unemployment funds and the Boehner Congress sure as hell wouldn't extend benefits.
We'd be hearing our Vice President Palin making quips about bombing Iran, rattling her mindless sabre at countries like China and Russia...and alienating our allies by calling France a bunch of pansies and The Dutch a bunch of hippie ass pot smokers.
You want to talk about kicking the hippies, Markos?!? Just f'ing imagine how much a Republican President, a Republican House, and a Republican Senate would "kick the hippies". At least Gibbs cares enough to somewhat apologize for his comment. Imagine how frustrating his job must be. I'm sure he feels bad about his comment, but at least he gives enough of a shit to apologize!
Do you think President Sarah Palin's Press Secretary would give two shits to apologize?!??
Come on everyone. Keep your eye on the fucking ball. Or else this country is going to get a whole lot worse in a couple years...and you'll have no one to blame but yourselves.
