I just wanted to write a quick diary about what the day after would look like if gays and lebians are given the right to get married. I know some of the things may seem a bit extreme to some, but hopefully you all will be understanding and not pass judgment.
I'll go to bed around 11:30p, after the Daily Show. I usually DVR the Colbert Report and watch it the following day. Anyways, I get off the couch and make my way up the stairs. Since my wife and my kids are sleeping, the lights are turned off. Even though it is dark, I know my way around the house and I make my way to my 4 year old son's bedroom. I enter it, flip on my cell phone light to see where he is on his bed. I lean over, give him a kiss on the forehead and I whisper to him, "I love you. Sleep well". I then make my way to my 6 month old daughters room and do the same to her. I use my cell phone light to navigate my way around my bedroom in order to not trip over something and wake up my wife. I climb in bed, roll ver, kiss my wife, and fall asleep.
My daughter really doesn't sleep well and tends to wake up in the middle of the night. My wife and I try to take turns getting up with her, but since I am a deep sleeper, I don't usually wake up unles my wife puts her knuckles into my ribs (this is how she stops me from snoring as well). My son usually sleeps through the night and comes to our bedroom around 7am, asking us if he can watch cartoons. I get up, wander downstairs and turn on Scooby-Do (the 1960's originals) or Fraggle Rock (yes, I got him into that) and pour him a bowl of cereal to eat. I go upstairs and hop in the shower. By the time I am out, my wife is up, feeding our daughter and getting her ready for daycare. By the time I am ready to go to work, I back theri bags for daycare, ask my son to get dressed, and hop in the car, not before kissing my wife and wishing her a good day.
My son likes playing "I spy with my little eye" in the car and asks me to find signs, the sky, a red car, etc... He sometimes tries to hide and sneak a toy into daycare, but he is not really that good at it. I remind him that "show and tell" is on Fridays. I drop off the kids and I'm off to work.
My work day varies depending on what day of the week. I am a mental health therapist for children/teenagers and sometimes my day can be hectic and emotionally draining. However, I am usually home by 5:30pm. Sometimes my wife is running late, so she calls and asks me to pick up the kids.
I come home and help my wife make dinner as our daughter hangs out in her exer-saucer and our son plays hockey in the living rom (he is obsessed). He imagines he scores the winning goal and he runs around pretending to hold the stanley cup (maybe I brainwashed him with hockey). We eat dinner every night as a family and my son usually leads saying grace. Instead of the "father, son, holy spirit", he says "head, stomach, shoulder, shoulder" to remember the motions. After dinner, my wife is my love and offers to clean up as I spend time with the kids. We play, read, do puzzles, or watch cartoons. Sometimes, when my son is in trouble and not allowed to watch his shows he will try to convince me that I really want to watch Scooby-Do because "you like it very, very much". When it is time for bath, we clea up toys and go upstairs.
My wife gives my daughter a bath (she loves water) and I help my son with a shower (big boys take showers). He brushes his teeth, runs to his room, gets himself dressed in his pj's, and puts on black socks since his feet are cold. My wife comes in with out daughter all dressed up and we all give her a kiss. I lay on my son's bed and read two stories. Give him a kiss on the forehead and sing "night, night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite." Sometimes he wants eskimo kisses and I oblige.
I go downstairs and my wife joins me. We open a bottle of wine and watch some shows we dvr'd. My son usually comes to the stairs either saying that his teddy bear hit him or there is a fish under his bed. I take care of bear and the fish. we sit on the couch, drink a glass of wine, eat popcorn, and watch our show until my wife is ready to go to bed. She gives me a kiss and says "good night." I either join her or I watch a few more shows, until 11:30.
I know!! Now do you see the impact that gay marriage will have!?As u can see, gay marriage will absolutely and completely destroy my family and must be stopped. It will not change anything about our loving family. God help us if I continue to feel so blessed with what I have and be a part of a family that holds unconditional love for one another.
