After the somewhat disastrous video that our favorite Wasilla soccer mom released early this morning -- which amazed us with its weird stilted delivery and at the same time managed to offend every Jewish group in the country -- Sarah has now released a new press release that, finally, hits all the right notes and papers over the problems with the last couple of days' misfires. I must admit that this one is actually pretty good, rather touching, and I hope it will put this story to bed once and for all. The text is below.
Since this tragedy that was so senseless and unnecessary in Tucson, I have been subjected to a veritable holocaust of tweets from the left-wing media and their Facebook friends. My family and I have felt that we have been rounded up by mean-spirited twitters metaphorically into train cars for transport to a rhetorical work camp. But we are resolute. We will not go willingly into that state of ostracism that is so analogous to an online ghetto. And if we are so-to-speak forced to wear a red-white-and-blue star -- the mark of the real American patriot that the liberal elites fear so much -- sewn onto our coats every time we post a status update, then even though they will consider it a mark of shame, we will carry it as a badge of honor. We will survive this figurative pogrom. Figuratively.
Also, too, I hope that everyone will stop being so selfish and remember who the real victims are.
There. See -- that's much better, right?
