Well, remember I am 67 now and may be unable to notice distinctions that I may have had in my youth. I didn't notice something and it was just brought to my attention on CNN.
The program 'The View' with all those ladies tries to represent different opinions, attitudes, religious beliefs. I have fairly often watched this show, especially when they have politicians on (with some exceptions).
What is the big something that was brought to my attention?
The fact that there are two women on the show who are African-American. This was late tonight and was a fluff piece about the Gospel Awards show tomorrow, to be hosted by one of the said ladies, Sheri (can't remember her last name).
As much as I had watched 'The View' it failed to dawn on me that there were two African-American women as co-hosts. I simply had not noticed this. (I watch because of Whoopie and Joy.)
Does this mean I am insensitive to race? Or at least insensitive to some racial issues?
I mean, this is a serious question for me.
I should also point out that when I look at President Obama I don't see a black president, I see a terrific president. This happens with my friends, too. I don't see them as my black friends, but just as my friends.
I anticipate that some of you may think I am joking, but I am not. So, should I have noticed this or not?
