My husband and I moved to this region about two and a half years ago. I started getting phone calls from collection agencies. There is some one else in this area with the same name. In addition, I also started getting mailings from the RNC.
I have never been a Republican and you can count on one hand the Republicans I have voted for in nearly 40 years of voting.
Several of the mailings I got were surveys. I would fill them out in various ways, depending on my mood. Sometimes I followed the RNC party line, but took it farther. "What to do about illegal aliens?" My answer, "They don't belong here, ship them to outer space." (I wanted to sound crazy, but made sure that no one could construe my answer as threatening). Sometimes I would call bullshit on their questions. For instance, on some cultural issue they would ask about, I'd write in that this was a manufactured issue that only an idiot would buy. Sometimes, I'd wholeheartedly agree with them that we need to follow whatever our corporate overlords tell us to do, no questions asked.
Last week, I received a mailing to renew my RNC membership. Of course, they wanted money, as they also want in the surveys. The return form said something to the effect of , "I am happy to help prevent the Obama democrats leading this country on a path to socialism, so I am enclosing a contribution of __." I entered "$0.00" in the slot and wrote this note on it, "You guys are so funny when you're desperate. However, your war on women is so effective that I'm writing a check to Planned Parenthood."
Both the RNC and the Planned Parenthood envelopes have a little blurb asking you to put on your own stamp to save them money. I always put one on the PP envelopes and never on the RNC.
So that's my own little guerilla war on Republicans. Wanna share your tactics?
