After a nearly two year gap my old Congressman, Joe Sestak is back to posting on here. He’s put up a series of articles over the past two weeks, and I’m hoping that he’ll be on a ballot near me soon.
I live in PA-07 and had the honor and privilege of being served by Joe Sestak as my Congressman for 4 years. Although my “huge” donation of $40 to his Senate campaign was not enough to get him the win vs. Toomey, it was nice to see Admiral Sestak come so close to beating every poll and prediction that had him losing the race. I am now stuck with Pat Toomey as one of my Senators and Pat Meehan as my Congressman. Toomey, as the king of the club for growth, represents as bad of a Senator as one can have. Meehan, although a horrible rep for PA-07, is somewhat less sinister than Toomey and really represents the newest Delaware County, PA Republican Party hack. Not good times in sunny ole’ Delco for a progressive.
Where this leaves me is that I’m excited to see Admiral Sestak getting active again. Putting Meehan out on his butt in 2012 and getting a Democrat back in the PA-07 seat would be great. A link on here has some “interesting” news on Sestak’s possible run for his old seat:

12:24 PM PT: PA-07: Dem ex-Rep. Joe Sestak, in the news because of his opposition to the Pennsylvania GOP's electoral college plan, is also saying he isn't ruling out another run for elective office — which is exactly what he said in February when he was last asked. Back then, though, the speculation was that he might run for governor in 2014. Now, PoliticsPA is suggesting a return to his old seat in the 7th CD could be in the cards, and adds that local politicos and potential candidates are all playing wait-and-see.
One major unknown is what will happen with PA-07 as part of the redistricting process. Rumor has it that a good slice of the “D” part of Delaware County will be pushed into Bob Brady’s very Democratic PA-01. I’m not sure if that destroys any Democrat’s ability to win PA-07 if it gets more red/red-neck by adding some of Joe Pitts’ or Jim Gerlach’s turf in Chester County. Any Democrat trying to knock out Mike Fitzpatrick up in Bucks County might face a similar problem. If any Democrat can win back a more red PA-07 I think it is Joe Sestak.
I’m hoping that Sestak’s reemergence on here means that he’ll be back running for PA-07 again.
