Frank Luntz went on Imus attacking left wingers for their violent comment threads. One problem: Moveon.org doesn't have a comment section.
Political pundits are some of the sharpest minds in the media. They get paid to see the things that we common folk do not. For instance, David Brooks once said that Obama would fit in nicely at an Applebee's salad bar.
And some people in the lamestream media picked on Brooks because Applebee's doesn't have salad bars. Yet. But I imagine a salad bar just needs to be invented, covered in old framed pictures and decorative flair. A lot of flair. Flair it up, bitches, and Brooks is just ahead of his time. And that's what people don't get about these genius thoughts: they just haven't ripened yet.
Now Frank Luntz, a pollster—he's a numbers guy—said on Imus this morning that every third or possibly even fourth comment here on Daily Kos (maybe every fifth comment at the absolute very most) is violent. I'm looking at you, Yellowstone in Winter, a Photo Diary! What do you think people meant when they said "great shots", huh?
In his ranting against these commenters, who you would find of course only on left wing sites, Luntz mentioned, like I said, Daily Kos, as well as Huffington Post and MoveOn.org. And we would all agree comments on Huffington Post can be pretty bad. There was one of those 'Cutest Animals in the World' story that I remember someone saying "I want to scrunch that koala's face!" And another, 'Model Goes BRALESS in Milan' where I can remember someone saying a model had "killer nipples."
It's not like Luntz is pulling these numbers out of thin air. He's a pollster, dammit! Take for instance Moveon.org, which doesn't even have a comments section. Does that mean they will never get one? Why do you think they don't have a comments section? Because there has never been a comments section to post a poll! They are anti-pollster, i.e. anti-Luntz. And that means they are part of the lamestream media. I see you nodding your head yes. You get it.
And I know what you're saying. Daily Caller, aren't they the site of Tucker "Michael Vick Should Be Executed" Carlson? Well, yeah, but you're not looking at the comments section, are you? That's where the violent imagery lies, not in the headline (not that Daily Caller commenters would ever suggest violent things).
So self-police people! We know that every third or possibly even fourth comment here on Daily Kos (maybe every fifth comment at the absolute very most) is violent. Try to get that number down to every eighth or ninth (maybe even twelfth comment if we're lucky). Because pollsters never lie.
